Funeral and Memorial Bookmark Poems and Verses
Funeral memorial bookmarks are a great keepsake to give to family and guests at funerals, memorials and any kind of remembrance service. These bookmarks are small, thin cards that contain information about the deceased, and usually have a peoms, scripture verse or inspirational saying on the back. You could also choose to put a short biography or life sketch on the back. When deciding what to put on the back of your funeral bookmark, choose what speaks to your heart...there are no rules about what you should include.
The challenge with finding poems and verses for bookmarks is making sure that you can fit the typed poem within the small space of the memorial bookmark. You may have to adjust the vertical spacing or the font size to make them fit. These sayings should fit on the back of your bookmark (bookmarks are typically are a finished size of 2.45"x8"). Here are some suggested poems, verses or sayings that you can use. Memorial Bookmark Poems about Remembrance and Memories
Remember Me -- Christina Georgina Rossetti
Remember me when I am goneaway,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more, day by day,
You tell me of our future that you planned:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that I once had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
Memories Live Forever
A bouquet of beautiful memories,
sprayed with a million tears,
wishing God could have spared you,
if just for a few more years.
It does not take a special day,
for us to think of you,
each Mass we hear,
each prayer we say,
is offered up for you.
We cannot bring the old days back,
when we were all together,
our family chain is broken now,
but memories live forever.
Memories of You -- Unknown
I remember everything about you,
your voice, your smile, your touch,
the way you walked, the way you talked,
the way you looked at me, meant so much.
I remember all the words you said to me,
some funny, some kind, some wise,
all of the things you did for me,
I see now with different eyes.
I remember every moment we shared,
seems like only yesterday,
or maybe it was eons ago,
It's really hard to say.
You are gone from me now,
but one thing they can't take away,
your memory resides inside my heart,
and lights up my darkest days.
Remembrance
You can shed tears that she is gone, or
you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll
come back, or you can open your eyes and
see she has left.
Your heart can be empty
because you can’t see her,
or you can be full of the
love you shared.
